We went to Zoo Lights and it was the most magical experience ever!
My pictures will do it no justice.
Our first order of business was to find the owl. Lily loves owls and thought she (Athena the Owl) would be awake for the first time. She was right. We didn't know where Athena was so we asked a talking tree and he told us the way. This owl communicated with us. Couldn't take her eyes off of the girls!
It was awesome!
We saw reindeer.
This was the girls second time seeing reindeer in the weekend because Grandma and Grandpa took them to see them the day before at an overnight visit.
(While D and I stayed home and went shopping for Santa)
It was a bit chilly, but pretty balmy for Midwestern December.
The very best show was the polar bear! He put on such an entertaining show for us, playing with his toy. The whole crowd was wowed by his moves.
He was crashing into the glass right in front of us at the girls eye level (see terrible picture below)
Can you imagine being just a pane of glass away from a huge polar bear? I loved every second of it.
It was all of our first time being in a zoo at night. Most of the animals out, were really active and it was so much fun. We are going to try to go again while on Holiday Break.
If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend!
