Staycation Unplugged

D and I had many big ideas for our summer vacation

(Toronto, North Dakota, Yellowstone, etc).

And then we had The Best Idea...

Stay Home!

Our summer weekends are overflowing with

company, trips, parties and fun.

We decided the right balance would be to stay home.

We had planned to turn off our phones, computers and the TV.

We instead wanted to spend our time playing games, going outside, getting the house in order, and sleeping as much as possible.

Then a much needed, but incredibly violent

 storm rolled in on Sunday afternoon, just as staycation began.

Our power was out for the day.

So we lit candles, stocked up on water,

and camped out in the basement.

On our second round of Candle Light Uno,

the power came back on.

We decided to stay fake camping anyway.

With the tv, lights, and phones turned on.
