Our awesome neighbors got
a tree for us,
from another neighbor,
(sounds good, it gets even better... just wait)
For free!
Then they suggested where we put it.
(thank you!)
And then, offered to help us plant it.
(yes please!)
How could we resist the offer?
You (3) wonder?
Well let me tell you.
We accepted, with glee!
We are no landscapers.
You must be gathering this by now.
We took them up on their offer.
Here is our house and
two Lowe's
on the porch
in conversation about a tree.
These lovely neighbors of ours have busy
grown up jobs with long hours.
They were also fixing
another friends' car brakes
on the same evening.
This is par for the course with them.
They are always willing and helpful to the world.
They haved helped strangers at Costco get a TV home,
because it didn't fit in the owners car,
and these neighbors own a truck.
And seemingly,
Just For Me,
a staple gun,
a generator,
a fabulous recipe book,
a cute and nice dog,
and human kindness.
And all the things you want to have in neighbors.

So, on this particular evening
they ALL pitched in to help.
Once again.
(ALL, meaning even the friend with bad brakes,
a problem worse than ours)
And we got this tree planted,
I was overwhelmed with kindness.

It goes without words,
to say these are the most generous
neighbors of all times.
neighbors of all times.
They were the ones to bring me a bundt cake
Then these sweet neighbors took our picture,
American Gothic Suburbia style...
to make it look like WE planted the tree.
(we sweat a little,
but didn't do most of the work,
and maybe a few of us got in the way).

And here she is Ladies and Gentlemen =
Our New Tree.
Lily named her Trio.
I thought it was appropriate,
considering our 3 helpers
in settling Trio into her new home,
with questionable owners.

with questionable owners.
I will admit, we all have fallen in love
with Her. Trio.
She's a little Redbud and looks just right,
in our front yard.
I watch her through my front office window,
and she..
inspires me...
to water,
to check the weather,
to think about (maybe) landscaping,
to treasure beautiful spaces,
and things that grow.
To hug my neighbors,
for their help with our yard and our life.
And give gratitude for many things,
I didn't do the day before Trio was planted.
More friends for Trio on the way,
including fake pet rock to hid the
sewer contraption, residing near Trio.
Stay tuned!
