Playdate with a Purpose

Remember when Lily and I decided we needed to somehow give back to other children and parents with medical concerns? from the post about her surgery last year? http://lowefamilycircus.blogspot.com/2009/02/worry-is-like-rocking-chair-it-gives.html
Well the year was almost up and we had yet to meet our goal. In my defense I searched for volunteer opportunities that could include a 4 year old, and it was difficult to find. In fact, for me, impossible. Thankfully, our friends Kara, Lilia, Adrie and new baby Bella hosted a Playdate with a Purpose on Lily's birthday for us to attend. The event was for Noah's Neverending Rainbow. We were asked to provide a few items to assist families with children that have trisomy and other chromosome disorders http://noahsneverendingrainbow.org/index.html
I asked Lily what she thought these babies might need and she suggested a "Peek A Boo Machine that plays music and blows bubbles" She recalled when Gracie loved peek a boo from last summer. Since we couldn't find that creative idea while shopping we settled on blankets and books.

Here's Lily and Lilia after inspecting the gifts.
