St. Paddy's Parade

Lads,
We went to the Chicago St. Paddy's Parade for the first time ever.

We caught a leprechaun upon arrival!
We also found no traffic,
perfect parking,
and a front row viewing spot,
next to nice people.

Why haven't we done this before?

Coffee and hot chocolate were easily fetched,
 from a nearby hotel...

and it was a sunny day.

It was kind of magical.

This was a last minute decision,
so we wore what we could find in our closets.

Lily wins for finding a gold sweater
and green legwarmers.

And also for dressing the rest of us.

We ended in a beer bistro.
That served a newly made brew to me,
in a Breckenridge glass.

As if they knew me.
And knew, I would text this
right to Papa Paul.

I have a Reuben sandwich once year.
This was my first with a side of tater tots.

It won't be my last.

It was an awesome way to celebrate.

And it took all the pressure off of the real holiday,
when we had work and dance and life happening,
on a Tuesday.

I wore a green dress to work,
and bought Lucky Charms
for the girls to have for  breakfast
and otherwise
ignored St. Paddy's Day.

Our celebrating had been done.

And also,
we are not really Irish.

Shh.
We look, dance, and drink the part.

Cheers!
