First Concert!

Friends,

Here's a secret.

The SHRM convention wasn't all work.

On the last night, Kelly Clarkson played.

I went home to grab Lily and turned around and headed back downtown with her in tow.

We joined co workers

and more kids and rocked out!

It was Lily's first concert.

(how nice and safe and clean for a first concert

 in a room full of HR professionals)

Lily was thrilled!

(You think?)



She really got to experience the whole concert deal.  She even had a beer spilled on her.

(it wasn't mine. Come on, Friends! Where's the love?)

You know what we did about that spilled beer?

We sang

"what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!"

 

It was really a dream come true,

for me,

to be standing next to Lily

singing the same songs with her,

 at her first concert.

My co workers sitting behind us,

suggested she stand on the chair to see better.

They were so generous to us.

It was so much fun.

For weeks I have been singing all Clarkson tunes with a smile and a memory in my minds eye.

 

"turning my cheek for the sake of the show...catch my breath!"
