8th Anniversarys are for Grown Ups!

We celebrated our 8th Anniversary with a Double Date Night!
We went out with "The Shooters"
I am humored at what a date night means these days, compared to what it used to.

Date night these days is so rare and important we take pictures to document it.
Can you relate to serving fish sticks and mac and cheese to the kids while you search for your long lost eyeliner in an attempt to pretty yourself up? Ignoring your hunger pains, knowing the meal ahead will be worth the wait? The girls praising me for stomping around in such fancy shoes, as if its the first time they have even seen anything so flashy on my feet? They maybe finally believe I have a little bit of princess in me, too?

Lily posed us and took picture before we left.

Here we are in Prom Pose, or in my words Teenage Parents Pose.

Here we are in a pose titled by Lily "Kiss"

(titled by me "Longest, Fakest Kiss in History")

(titled by Charlotte "Me too. I wanna go")

Our dinner awaits...
(a real grown up meal to me means you can see the sun is going down as it begins)

And there is more than one course
versus

"where's the crayons? Thanks for the appetizer we'll take our bill when you're ready.

Yes I know we haven't ordered yet, but we're in a hurry, send the bill and 2 balloons."

And there's no colored plastic cups on the table

No paper placemats with mazes and word finds.

Instead there's...

Bubbly!

Perhaps the only childish thing about this meal as the fact that we call each other names. Shooters for them. Lowe Poke's for us!

A great meal with great friends is such a treasure!

Someday the girls will join us and we will have grown up meals together!

Till then, Cheers to babysitters!
